Morgentau® – our masterful tea creation, created in 1989 and unchanged ever since – a story of innovation and passion. An unexpected shipment of fresh mangoes from India inspired our then Tea Taster, Friedrich Rapp, to create an exceptional recipe. The result: a unique Sencha green tea, refined with exotic mango and a delicate citrus note. The harmonious blend of slightly tart Sencha aromas and fruity sweetness has won the hearts of tea lovers worldwide. The impetus for developing this tea came from an Indian supplier who sent a crate of fresh, delicious mangoes to the then-tea taster Friedrich Rapp. At the time, this popular fruit was still relatively exotic in Germany. Tested by Friedrich Rapp in several rounds of tasting, the final product significantly contributed to green tea consumption in Germany. Even today, the original recipe remains a closely guarded secret, passed on only among tea tasters. Morgentau® has been copied many times, but it remains unique to this day.
